The walk from Hradčanská metro, step by step

The simplest and most reliable way to reach us is by metro. We are just a two-minute walk from Hradčanská station on line A, the green line. That line runs through the heart of Prague and connects to both other metro lines, so whether you are coming from Můstek, Muzeum, Náměstí Míru or from Nádraží Veleslavín on the airport side, changing over is quick and painless.

Once you step off the train, follow the exit signed towards Dejvická and ride the escalator up to street level. You will emerge into a busy but easy-to-read corner of Prague 6, ringed with cafés, shops and a lively grid of streets. From there it is only a few dozen metres to our address on Dejvická. The path is level, paved and step-free, so it is manageable with a suitcase, a pushchair or limited mobility. If you are unsure which way to turn, simply follow the house numbers - you are looking for 255/18.

The advantage of the metro is obvious: no traffic jams, no hunt for a parking space, no parking fees. Trains run at short intervals from early morning until midnight, so you fit comfortably within our opening hours. Arriving by car and finding your way around Dejvice

If you prefer to drive, Dejvice is easily reached from most of Prague's main arteries. From the north you come in along Milady Horákové; from the centre via Prašný most; from the west via Vítězné náměstí, one of the most recognisable landmarks in the whole district. Locals call this large roundabout Kulaťák, and the main streets fan out from it like spokes - one of them leads you almost to our door.

Bear in mind that Dejvice is a lively residential and commercial quarter, so on weekdays between 16:00 and 19:00 the traffic thickens noticeably. The appeal of driving is comfort and flexibility, especially if you are coming from a more distant part of Prague or from another town. Parking in Prague 6: an honest word on the blue zones

Let us be honest: parking in Dejvice takes a little planning. Prague 6 is covered by a system of paid parking zones, recognisable by the blue horizontal markings on the road. The blue zones are primarily for residents and permit holders, but a visitor can still park here for a short while - you simply have to pay for the space at a parking machine or through the mobile app the city uses for parking payments.

Before you walk away from the car, check the rules for that particular stretch at the nearest machine or in the app. The length of time a visitor may stay, and the hourly rate, can vary from street to street and by time of day. Do not assume that an empty space means a free space - checks in Prague 6 are frequent, and a fine for unpaid parking can turn a pleasant afternoon into a needless nuisance.

• Arrive with time to spare - finding a free spot in a blue zone can take ten to fifteen minutes at busy hours.

By tram and on foot around Dejvice

Beyond the metro, Dejvice is superbly served by trams too. Vítězné náměstí, the Kulaťák mentioned earlier, is a major tram hub where several lines meet, linking Prague 6 with the centre and other districts. From the tram stops around the square and along Dejvická, our address is a pleasant walk of just a few minutes. The tram is a fine alternative in particular when you are coming from somewhere without a direct metro connection.

Walking through Dejvice is a pleasure in its own right. The quarter has broad pavements, tree-lined streets and a clear, orderly layout, so it is easy to find your way even on a first visit. On the way you pass cafés, bakeries and little shops where you can stop before or after your treatment. Many of our guests turn the visit into a whole afternoon: they come up from the metro, stroll through Dejvice, unwind with us, then head off for a coffee or a walk over to nearby Hradčany.

If you are arriving on foot from another part of Prague 6 - say from Bubeneč or Hanspaulka - you will find the whole area flat and comfortable to walk. Step-free access, groups and arriving with children

Accessibility is not only about the mode of transport you choose, but about how comfortably you can reach us with particular needs. The area around our Dejvice branch is flat and the pavements are paved, which anyone arriving with a pushchair, luggage or limited mobility will appreciate. Hradčanská metro station and the nearby tram stops are only a few level minutes away, with no demanding staircases on the way to our door.

If you are planning a visit as a larger group, it is worth arranging both transport and arrival ahead of time.
